Living By The Word of God

Live a healthier, happier, and more Christian life with help from Rev. Wendell Wharton. As a Baptist minister, Rev. Wendell preaches The Word of God, teaches online Bible lessons, and provides other religious services to help better the lives of individuals all across the country and around the world.

To spread The Word of God, he has developed a series of "Bible Based Life Lessons". Every three paragraphs in length as part of an online Bible study program. He provides contextual Bible verses and quotes, which are then simplified and explained. This is followed by advice on how each of these verses applies to your current, daily life. These "Life Lessons" have been referred to as mini-sermons, but they are designed to be daily devotionals that help to explain The Scriptures. He posts one of these Bible Based Life Lessons on his blog daily. His blog may be viewed online through the links provided on this website.

These Bible Based Life Lessons have also been published and are available for purchase. They are grouped together by The Book of The Bible from which they were taken.

"Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might ..."  Ecclesiastes 9:10 (KJV)

The Bible Verse For Today

"And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name; him they compelled to bear His cross. And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of the skull."
(Matthew 27:32-33)

The Inspirational Thought For Today

"Love the life you live. Live the life you love. "
(Bob Marley)

The Motivational Quote For Today

"Our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them."
(Walt Disney)

The Life Lesson For Today

"Simon, the Cyrene, was compelled by the soldiers to carry the cross of Jesus. Today, we are not forced to carry a cross. Jesus, The Christ, said that if we want to follow Him, then we must take up our cross and follow Him. (Matthew 16:24, Mark 8:24, and Luke 9:23) We are to deny ourselves and take up our cross daily and follow Christ. (Luke 9:23) The cross is not heavy. Christ said, “My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.” (Matthew 11:30) The problem for us is that following Christ runs contrary to the way of the world and letting go of our sinful ways is difficult for us. We need to be mindful of the fact that we cannot serve two masters; we must choose God or man. (Matthew 6:24 and Luke 16:13) The choice is ours, however, like Joshua said, “As for me and my house, we will serve The Lord.” (Joshua 24:15)"             (Rev Wendell)

The Words Of Encouragement for Today

"They helped every one his neighbor; and every one said to his brother, 'Be of good courage.' "
(Isaiah 41:6)

"Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth." 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)

His Purpose

In addition to preaching and teaching the gospel from the pulpit, Rev. Wendell has made it his goal to accomplish spreading The Word of God throughout the entire world via the internet. According to The Bible, the great commission is to spread The Word of God to "... teach all nations ..." (Matthew 28:19-20) and to "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel ..." (Mark 16:15) The internet affords him a great opportunity for teaching The Word of God to "the world."
